Five useful sizes - The set contains five paint brushes with different useful sizes in total. It has one angled paint brush which is great for cutting in corners and best paint brush for trim on windows.

Quality handles - Despite its low price, this brushes come in with wood handles and soft bristles and they're best watercolor brushes. On top of that, wood handles are coated with a smooth finish, plus that the paint brushes are light-weighted, make it comfortable to hold and creates flexibility for motion.

Excellent paint release - The bristles have minimal moisture absorption giving outstanding paint release.

Productivity Booster - This set is specialized in enhancing productivity for professional exterior and versatility, heavy-duty tasks, mainly due to its premium design for pros and its ability to withstand the most abrasive surfaces.

SRT filaments - As these paint brushes are equipped with the SRT filaments, it has the paint holding capacity up to 30%. Also, thanks to the SRT filaments, you can paint smoothly with roughly no brush mark.

Easy to clean - The brushes are easy to clean with warm water and soap, all you have to do is to spend two minutes doing a little cleaning job. This will be the best feature if you use the black paint since the color is usually hard to clean off.

Let’s finish with praising words here and prepare for some critical comments.

Flimsy bristles - The bristles are too soft and thin, after using several times the bristles might stick out if not washed carefully. If you want something cheap and disposable then it should not be a problem, though.

The handle is too long - also, the long handle of the angled one might be a problem if you are not used to them since that extra length might get stuck in the corner. This one is recommended for the pros, so if you are new, try getting one with a shorter handle.

My Recommendation

If you are a pro and usually encounter heavy-duty painting task, and you want a cheap paint brush set with reusability (not in long-term of course), we highly recommend this set for you.

Consider the price over the performance we can safely conclude this one is the best set of the top 5 paint brushes in this article.

Wooster Brush Q3211-2 Shortcut Angle Sash – Best paint brush for trim work

Wooster Brush Q3211-2 Shortcut Angle Sash Paintbrush, 2-Inch, best brushes for acrylic paint

Wooster Brush Q3211-2 Shortcut Angle Sash Paintbrush, 2-Inch

Are you new to painting stuff? Are you a fan of the short handle? Then this is best brushes for acrylic paint and lots of other paints.

Plastic short handle (newbie friendly) - This paint brush is designed with short her grip handle which increases flexibility in tight space, if you are having trouble with the long handle then this brush will be the best brush for cutting in edge.

The unique design of the short rubber handle allows it to fits nicely to your palm. Therefore, you can rest your hands at ease. In addition, it has long-lasting durability enables it to be reused many times.Work with all paints - With the white nylon and gold polyester, you can easily blend with all paints including latex, acrylic, oil, polyurethane, chalk paint, magnetic paint etc.

Big keyhole for convenience - If you have a habit of hanging your paint brushes on the wall for the sake of convenience, the big hook-on hole in this one will do the job.

Bristles loss - Sadly, the bristle might be uneven and come out after just several times of uses. Also due to the thickness, the bristle is a little bit hard to clean.

Not a good friend with a handy paint pail - The short handle can pose a problem too if you use handy paint pail, it might be hard to reach the paint whenever the paint level is low (below half of the paint pail).

You might tilt the paint pail to the other side to reach the bottom. However, it might be a little bit difficult to dip properly since you want to keep the paint on the lower part of the bristles. So use normal paint pail instead of handy one unless you want to carry it around all times.

The handle might be too short to handle - Although this is specialized in cutting in edges but not the edges of the high ceilings since the short handle won’t allow you to reach far.

Despite the great flexibility provided by the short rubber handle, some people find it uncomfortable to hold a grip on it after a while.

The reason might be that when your hands are tired, the long handle provides you the sense of heaviness which might get them back into “working mode”, while the easy feeling of short handle gets your hands into “rest mode” which might be the reason of unconformity (you might feel like there is no handle at all).

My Recommendation

The price of this one is rather high, so it is reasonable to expect this paint brush to perform well with only a few problems. However, it doesn’t meet people’s expectation.

The selling point of this one is the short rubber handle but it doesn’t perform well. Also, the bristle sticks out thing is a minus point.

If you have just learned to paint, or might be you hate painting and you want something that is easy to use, then ignore the negative comment and buy it.

PURDY 140853100 Brush Kit

PURDY 140853100 Brush Kit, 3-Piece, best paint brushes for acrylic

PURDY 140853100 Brush Kit, 3-Piece

Popular high-quality brand - Purdy is well-known for the best acrylic paint brushes and excellent durability, hence the high prices. The brand has existed for 85 years with proven quality over time.

Best paint lift capacity - We also praise these brushes for the superior paint lift capacity, which is by far as good as advertised. Furthermore, because the bristles are thin, they are easy to clean.

High price - The set cost $19.97 which is the highest price compared to others in this article. However, you can hardly find fault on this one, so the price should be worth it.

Three useful sizes - This brush kit consists of three brushes, with the sizes of 1-Inch (angled), 1.5-Inches (angled), and 2-inches (flatted). It is great for cover trim, touch-up, and small projects.

Work with all paints - Attached with Satin-Edge nylon and Orel polyester; Purdy Paint Brush kit provides a unique blend that can deal with all types of paint. Moreover, the product is adaptable to outdoor hot and humid condition due to its stiffness retention. We recommend it for both interior and exterior projects.

Wood handle, copper ferrule, and tapered filaments - Talking about luxury and fanciness, each brush has wood handle comes in different styles with a copper ferrule and tapered filament. Pretty worth the price huh?

Outstanding durability - With great money comes great responsibility; a high price product must be durable, right? Of course, the paint brushes are pretty reusable, and so far there has been no report about the bristle sticks out or falls off.

Flimsy bristle - The worst downside about this product is the flimsy bristle and that’s all.

Quality synthetic bristles - Purdy is one of the best acrylic brushes are suitable for the project

Best paint brushes for walls - You can use this paint brush for cabinets, edging, furniture, letting or trim work. In addition, it is the best paint brushes for acrylic.

My Recommendation

These Purdy paint brushes costs nearly twice as much as the Presa set, however, you get what you pay for. Consider the quality and durability of the product, if you truly want something serious to work for your project then you should buy this kit.

Things We Liked

  • Excellent durability
  • Easy to clean
  • Superb lift capacity
  • Can deal with all paints
  • Withstand hot and humid condition well
  • Great for trim, touch-up, and small project
  • Copper ferrule
  • Tapered Filament

Things We Didn't Like

  • High price
  • Thin Bristle

Wooster Brush Q3108-2 Softip Paintbrush – best brush for latex paint

Wooster Brush Q3108-2 Softip Paintbrush, 2-Inch

Wooster Brush Q3108-2 Softip Paintbrush, 2-Inch

Oh look, another product from Wooster, again? That might be what you are thinking right now, huh?

If you want a rather short plastic handle design, but you think the previous Wooster Shortcut Angle Sash is uncomfortable, then I recommend this one for you. The handle is comfortable to grip and easy to control.

Let’s go briefly, through the brush’s design.

Longer plastic short handle - The handle is pearl yellow plastic one, the length is longer than the Wooster Shortcut version which makes it easier to control.

Softtip - The soft brush tips are designed to provide a smooth finish. The brush tips are so soft that it can be applied for painting wax on expensive leather items, left no scratches, and all the wax is clean up as it resists wax build up.

Though soft brush tip can be a problem too, the brush performs strangely as though the paint is held in the stiffer part of the brush. There is no guarantee for a smooth finish since it sometimes leaves very obvious lines.

Work with all paints - Thanks to the White nylon/gold polyester blend that resists wear, it works well with all paints-latex and oil-based, leaving almost no brush marks. Though recommended for oil-based, the paint brush works just fine on water-based paint.

Decent bristle design - The design of the bristle is brilliant, inside the bristle, there is the little space that helps hold and release the paint properly so there are less dipping and dripping.

Bristle loss - About the bristle loss problem, it’s a never ending debate where some people say it’s good, others say it’s bad. In the end, the only thing that matters is how carefully you clean and protect your property so it’s more up to you than the product itself.

My Recommendation

The price of this one is lower than the Wooster Shortcuts. In overall performance, it does better than the Shortcut version, nonetheless. Aside from the bristle loss issue (which is controversial), this one seems to do an okay job overall. If you are into the soft tip and low price, I would recommend this one.

Things We Liked

  • Short plastic handle, easy to control
  • Soft brush tips
  • Nylon/polyester blend resists wear
  • Less dipping and dropping
  • Easy to clean
  • Reusable
  • Good for oil-based and latex paint

Things We Didn't Like

  • Bristle lost (still controversial though)
  • Not suitable for the high precision project since the tips are too soft.

Capri Tools 00308 Brush Set 5-piece – best brush for painting cabinets

Capri Tools 00308 Brush Paint Stain Varnish Set with Wood Handles, 5-Piece

Capri Tools 00308 Brush Paint Stain Varnish Set with Wood Handles, 5-Piece

Instead of paying $2 or $3 more dollars for the Presa set, in the hope of reusing it sometimes (or you might not), you can save that extra money on this Capri Tools set.

Too cheap to keep - Consider the price, you shouldn’t be thinking too much when throwing the set away. At the end of the day, you don’t have to worry about cleaning it up since you might need a rest after a rough working day right?

Five useful sizes - The set consists of 5 paint brushes, sized from 1-Inch, 1.5-Inches, 2-Inches, 2.5-Inches and 3-Inches. The set is similar to Presa; it has one angled brush for trimming and cutting edges. It best fits touch-up and quick fix project.

Decent quality considered the price - Despite the low price, it comes in with wood handles, polyester bristles with feathered ends, can be useful for paint, stain, and varnish. They perform well for work, home, art, and craft projects.

Must be careful when used - These paint brushes should be used carefully since their bristles can come out anytime. If you are lucky enough, you might find one with even bristle that doesn't fall off and has no gaps.

Little stiffness though - The bristles could be a little bit stiff which makes it hard to paint an even coat.

Easy to clean (with a little trick) - Since they have soft bristles, it’s easy to clean. If you somehow wish to use them again for maybe… just another time, here is a tip: to preserve them, you don’t need to clean them, just wrap them in the kitchen plastic wraps and put them in a fridge. After a few hours, take them out, wait till they warm up and get ready to use them again.

My Recommendation

Again, they are cheap brushes, so you should lower your expectation a little bit. They can still do a decent job if you use them carefully.

If you are just a casual painter, or I mean you just suddenly want to repaint your stuff, this one is fine since you might not want to use it again. Even if you do, you can buy a new one since the price is low.

Throwing away these used paint brushes might also be good for your health since the chemical smell could be bad for your health anyway. Unless you are a professional painter, you don’t want to keep these items in your garage or basement.

In short, I recommend this for touch-ups and quick fix project, in case you don’t want to spend much money and have no intent to keep using them again.

Things We Liked

  • Pretty cheap and disposable
  • Useful for paint, stain, and varnish
  • Many useful sizes
  • Suitable for touch-up, quick fix projects
  • Easy to clean
  • Wood handle, polyester bristle with feathered ends

Things We Didn't Like

  • Bristle loss and stiffness
  • Might not be reusable
  • Not suitable for high precision projects

Conclusion

After all, the quest of finding the best paint brush for your need is hard. It does not depend solely on the brand but also the price you are willing to pay and the particular task you need to do.

That’s the reason why I choose to include different types of products vary from low-end to high-end quality, this way you’ll have a profound insight to make decisions.

So keep in mind to customize your choice base on your budget and purposes. Get the high-quality one if you are professional. Otherwise, just buy something cheap to temporary fulfill your purpose.

Base on the price and the performance of each product, we rate the Presa Set the best paint brushes in our list. Consider it is so cheap but ironically do a wonderful job which satisfies a lot of users.
